2008 NASA PONY PLAYING
RULES
- TIME LIMIT
- WEEKDAY GAMES ARE 110 MINUTES. NO INNING SHALL START
AFTER TIME EXPIRES. THE FIRST GAME OF THE DAY WILL FINISH THE INNING.
i.
Note: there is a weekday curfew at Bay Area Park to close the park by
10:00pm. This may create a suspended 2nd game (less than 5 complete
innings or tied), if the 1st game runs long.
- WEEKDAY SINGLE GAMES ARE 120 MINUTES. NO INNING SHALL
START AFTER TIME EXPIRES. There should be no issue with the curfew.
- WEEKEND GAMES ARE 120 MINUTES. NO INNING SHALL START
AFTER TIME EXPIRES.
- STARTING GAMES:
- EACH TEAM REQUIRES 9 PLAYERS TO START THE GAME. IF A
TEAM DOES NOT HAVE 9 PLAYERS BY 6:05 FOR THE FIRST GAME, IT IS A
FORFEIT. IF A TEAM DOES NOT HAVE 9 PLAYERS 5 MINUTES AFTER THE
CONCLUSION OF THE PLATE CONFERENCE OF THE SECOND GAME, IT IS A FORFEIT.
- MALICIOUS CONTACT:
- THERE IS NO MALICIOUS CONTACT RULE IN THE OFFICIAL
BASEBALL RULE BOOK. HOWEVER, WE SHOULD NOT ALLOW A PLAYER ON OFFENCE TO
RUN OVER ANY DEFENSIVE FIELDER. THIS IS UNSPORTSMANLIKE CONDUCT.
i.
Note: this is a judgment call. If there is contact as a result of a
defender going to the ball, this is deemed incidental contact.
